Sludge Interface Level Meter
The Sludge Interface Level Meter is a specialized instrument that uses underwater conductivity measurement to assess the water-soil interface and determine the sludge layer height. It is submerged in water to measure conductivity, which correlates with the concentration of dissolved solids. Sludge typically contains high concentrations of solids, causing a change in conductivity when the sensor reaches the interface. This shift enables the detection of sludge position. By analyzing the conductivity curve, the height or depth of the sludge interface can be calculated. It accurately monitors sludge accumulation, stratification, and settling speed within treatment systems critical for maintenance and management. Excessive sludge may cause clogging, efficiency reduction, and treatment failure. This instrument is applied in wastewater treatment plants, industrial facilities, sedimentation tanks, and oil-water separators, offering a non-intrusive and accurate method to ensure smooth system operation.
